maternity + urban downtown = my kinda maternity session!

i was thrilled when i found out today that jason and amber are actually related to ANOTHER client of mine who i did maternity & newborn photos for! how fun! and they are doing a home delivery - yay!! considering i was a midwife and doula and had both my kids at home, i was FULLY in awe of them! :)

with ginger, their adorable garfield look-alike kitty, following up with curiosity, we did some fun shots indoors, and then we headed for the great outdoors...RIIIIIIIGHT as the sun was going down - score!

thanks for letting me photograph you guys..you guys rocked it! and hopefully little babe will be here, just in time. :) (amber's due christmas eve!)

one of the most incredible things happened to me last night.

my friend erin gave me a christmas present.
but it wasn't just ANY present.

this was a gift.
a gift that spoke straight to my heart and brought me to tears
as my heart leapt and the very words rang true. and the fact that
it had postage stamps to boot...ya, i was pretty much lovin' it. :)

you see...there have been many days in the last few months that i
feel as tho i'm directionless...but yet going ahead and doing things
i never thought i'd do. dreams i'm living out that i never thought i'd
live out.

yet...feeling like i have NO idea what i want to do with my life.

chuckle..i know, right?

so when i opened this tiny package, i was completely speechless.

and now...it hangs around my neck with pride.

thank you, erin, for the most perfect gift i could ever ask for.
you, my friend, were a godsend...at just the right time.. xoxo

23 days til christmas day...and i'm still WAY busier than i had wanted to be!

i came home from portland running - 8 sessions culled & edited up in galleries within 3 days. and a wedding consultation. plus booking a couple real estate shoots. and a maternity session.

oh did i mention my LOOOOOOOOONG list of things to do?

how about take my truck in for an oil change? or make sure the fundraisers at school are underway? or shooting some headshots? how about getting some of my fine art together for an okanagan business to display and sell? um, can someone say "we need groceries!"???? or sipping coffee with some of the best photogs in the city? wait, that last one isn't on my "to-do" list..that's what i do for funsies!

yes..i'm busy. tomoro i have yet another shoot in the early am...a lunch meeting with dear libby, my co-founder of vancouver weddings photographers and second shooters group...the end of season bash BLUE OLIVE party tomoro night - YAY! gots to love my olive friends for opening their new studio to us all.. xo

the weekend is pretty much nutso too! :) rosie gets her hair permed wavy, layered and bangs (and not in that order i'm sure!) saturday morning.. a maternity shoot in the afternoon.. perhaps saturday night will be relaxing.. :)

then sunday..well sunday...lemme tell you about sunday! it's GOT CRAFT! yay!! then my friend's little guys 1st birthday party...then the fabulous annual AISLEWALK launch party hosted by erin g.

aren't you glad you know now? thought you'd be interested in my craziness.... :)

speaking of craziness...i'm wanting to do some big time christmas baking this year...first time since moving to burnaby in '07. i have some favorites that i do..but i want something new this year...

malia was absolutely adorable! the love between jesse and larissa was evidently strong between them..such a peace-filled family indeed!

donovan and lillian i met when i was at college in portland back in '91..
they were awesome.. they are STILL awesome.

they are some of the few friends i've kept since our time in 1991...and they have watched our family grow.. :) it's been so awesome.

i can't tell you what an honour it was to photograph not only you four, but your ENTIRE family.. i still can't believe we did 8 shoots in 4 hours.. we are fricken' rock stars.. :)

thank you..for everything. you guys are so dear to my heart. can't wait to wine and dine you when you come up to vancouver in january. :)

all three of dylan and robbin's children have THE most amazing blue eyes!!
they remind me of gorgeous blueberries...chuckle..kinda fitting that their grandfather's farm is blueberry farm, no? :)

the kids were so great..even when the littlest was "done" with having photos..they were awesome to the end!

philipp is a good man.. with 5 females in the house, that takes a special person. ;) giggle.. but honestly..the girls..they are so beautiful..and so sweet..and so much fun!
i can ONLY imagine what it will be like at their house when they are all teenagers!!

all 4 of them, beautiful and full of personality all of their own.. and morningstar holds a certain regal tenderness about her..

their family is so much fun.. it was a pleasure to photograph you guys!! :)
